Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training
This workshop is focused more specifically on suicidal crises and how to intervene. Participants will learn myths and facts about suicide, warning signs of suicide, and intervention skills to use if worried that a peer may be in a suicidal crisis. Attendees will participate in activities to allow them to practice and become more comfortable with these skills. Self care strategies for use after difficult conversations and resources at WWU that support mental wellness will also be covered. Works well as a follow up to You Can Help A Friend or You Can Help A Student, or on its own.
