Case Studies in Cultural Aspects of Care
This webinar is part of the Palliative Care Institute's Care Across Culture Series.

This session will be moderated by Dr. Devyani Chandran

Through a set of case studies, a panel will explore how our cultural identities, spiritual beliefs and backgrounds influence how we interact and engage with the patients and families we serve, and also examine how these elements impact family decision making when facing serious illness or death or after death care.

On completion of this session, participants should be able to:
1. Discuss how cultural and spiritual biases and expectations impact the delivery of quality care
2. Examine assumptions about cultural or spiritual groups and their care preferences or needs
3. Identify actions providers can take to learn more about the cultural or spiritual preferences of their patients and families.
