Maintaining Wellness for Black Faculty/Professionals in Predominantly White Environments
Rationale: To host a WWU symposium honoring the work of the Anti-Blackness and Wellness Research Project funded by WWU (2021-22). These findings have been shared with WWU via the Research Report, at national conferences, and refereed article submission. Currently, a book publication is in progress that further explores wellbeing challenges and solutions from the perspective of professional Black women at PWI’s . Day One will feature the project’s research team and their individual forthcoming book chapters/interests of study pertaining to professional Black female wellness strategies. Day Two is an extension of the previous day, however from the perspectives of professional Black males, and the BIPOC LGBTQ+ community.

Target Audience: Black/BIPOC Faculty/Professionals (WWU Community and beyond)
1. Handbook team (name in progress) are the featured presenters (of chapters) Panel discussion format (Q/A with audience)
2. Black male perspective for a featured speaker, maybe leading the panel discussion
3. Separate BIPOC panel
4. Intersectionality component (drawing on LGBTQ)
